Overflow blessings
There are many instances in the Bible that shows God’s favor that resulted in overflow. As Christians following the principles and examples set for us in the Bible, we can expect an overflow of blessings to cover our lives and those around us. That is why it is so important to be aware of those you connect and associate yourself with. You want to connect with those that are adhering to the biblical principles and walking upright that are purposefully walking in obedience. These are the ones that you can receive overflow of blessings from. They are also a living testimony that will help to keep you strong in the midst of adversity, trials and tribulations. The Bible teaches that the prayers of the righteous availeth much.
Lot was an example of an individual receiving overflow blessings. In Genesis you will see that Lot’s Uncle Abraham was walking in favor and was blessed abundantly with gold, silver, livestock and the ability to locate water under the ground. Abraham was a righteous man and because Lot was part of Abraham’s house Lot too was blessed with much. Lot had acquired so much that the two of them had to separate to keep their herdsmen from quarrelling. Abraham and Lot went in different directions upon separation.
Lot was still blessed by God when the City of Sodom and Gomorrah was destroyed because of Abraham’s relationship with God. Lot’s family was saved and removed from the city before it was destroyed.
Your walk is a living witness to those around you which includes your family, friends, associates, your neighbors and co-workers. You want to be a blessing to others that they too can walk in your overflow of God’s favor. This is why it is so important to be very consistent in your words and behaviors because other’s are watching and taking note so you don’t want to confuse them nor lead them away from the love of God. We always need to stay obedient to the example that was left for us to remain on the correct path.
Read the Bible and look at the situations, individuals and their characteristics and you will find references for every situation that you go through in your life as well as how to help instruct those around you. We want to be blessed so that we can be a blessing to others.
